Dermatology Partners is Coming to Owatonna
Opening January 2027 at 140 Landmark Drive NE. Expert skin care, close to home.
Since 2023, Dermatology Partners has served southeastern Minnesota from our Rochester clinic as the region's premier independent dermatology practice. In January 2027, we're bringing that same standard of care to Owatonna, in a brand-new building designed from the ground up for dermatology, including a fully equipped on-site Mohs surgery suite.
Led by Dr. Kevin Christensen, a Harvard- and Mayo Clinic-trained, board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon with more than 15,000 Mohs cases performed, our Owatonna team will offer the concierge-level experience our Rochester patients know: short wait times, direct communication with your care team, and transparent pricing.
Medical dermatology: comprehensive skin exams and skin cancer screenings, acne and Accutane management, eczema, psoriasis, rashes, warts, and hair and nail disorders. Surgical dermatology: Mohs micrographic surgery performed on-site, skin cancer excisions, cyst and lipoma removal, and cryotherapy. Cosmetic dermatology: Botox and Dysport, dermal fillers, and cosmetic mole and skin tag removal. No more driving to Rochester or the Twin Cities for fellowship-trained skin cancer surgery: it will be right here in Steele County.
We broke ground at 140 Landmark Drive NE in the summer of 2026, and construction is underway with completion planned for the end of the year. It was a family affair, and we couldn't be more excited to become part of the Owatonna community.
Micah Nelson, Realty Growth: All right, so we're here in Owatonna, Minnesota with Dr. Kevin Christensen at the groundbreaking for Dermatology Partners' new clinic. We're actually a little bit further along than a groundbreaking, as you can see. Credit to Schoeppner Construction and TSP, some of our partners here, for moving the project along so quickly. Kevin, what are you excited about in coming to Owatonna, and what excites you about the new building?
Dr. Christensen: We're very excited to be able to expand our dermatology operations to Owatonna. We'll be bringing both general dermatology as well as Mohs surgery to the community, so this is going to be a great opportunity to deliver high-value, patient-centered care.
Micah Nelson: Should be a highly functioning building too, I think.
Dr. Christensen: Yeah, really well designed. Beautiful building, for sure.
Micah Nelson: Are there any thoughts on when the new building is going to open?
Dr. Christensen: We're hoping to be operating in January 2027.
Micah Nelson: All the same services that you currently have in Rochester?
Dr. Christensen: Full services, yep. Both general dermatology, Mohs surgery, and cosmetic dermatology.
