Welcome to Dermatology Partners: Why I Built This Practice

Welcome to Dermatology Partners — Rochester's first independent, privately owned dermatology practice, founded in 2023.

Why did I start a private, independent dermatology practice in the shadow of one of the world's most famous medical institutions? The answer starts with a journey I never could have predicted.

The Road to Dermatology Partners

Growing up in St. Paul, Minnesota, I had no idea that one day I would be training at the world-famous Mayo Clinic. My education took me on a journey that brought me to Harvard, the Mayo Clinic, then to MD Anderson Cancer Center, and ultimately back home to Minnesota.

Along the way, I've had the privilege of practicing in a wide range of settings — quaternary, world-renowned medical centers as well as community-based practices. Each environment has taught me something valuable about what great patient care looks like.

Every Setting Has Its Strengths

Tertiary and quaternary care centers offer access to cutting-edge technology and complex multidisciplinary collaboration. Large multispecialty groups bring together diverse expertise under one roof. Regional nonprofit hospitals serve as the backbone of their communities.

I've learned from all of these environments, and I continue to work across multiple practice settings. What that breadth of experience has shown me is that there's also a meaningful role for something different: a small, versatile practice that brings the best of what I've learned to the community in a more direct and personal way.

Why Dermatology Partners

Rochester, Minnesota, has a storied medical history, and I'm proud to be part of that tradition. When I saw the opportunity to bring an independent dermatology option to this community, it felt like a natural next step — a way to deliver care in a setting that is small and versatile, bringing the lessons I've learned along the way to the people of Rochester.

Dermatology Partners isn't a replacement for what already exists. It's an additional option — for patients who want a practice built around direct relationships, unhurried appointments, and transparent care.

• We'll be straight with you. If you need a procedure, we'll explain why. If you don't, we'll tell you that too. Transparent pricing, honest recommendations, and no unnecessary treatments.
• We're here when you need us. Have a concerning spot? We'll get you in quickly. Have a question after your visit? You can reach us directly.

We're still growing, and I'm proud of the team we've assembled — from our providers to our clinical and administrative staff, every person at Dermatology Partners shares the same commitment to putting patients first.
